  • Seek inspiration whether it be from Instagram, Pinterest or even if you see someone with a cool outfit on the street. Make mood boards find out what you're into.

  • To dress with style you do not need to buy the most expense trendy thing out. Look at your closet, see what you already have, remember, layering and accessorising can add extra flair to any outfit even if your utilising your basics. A capsule wardrobe streamlines your clothing collection to essential, versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched for various outfits and occasions. The goal is to curate a functional wardrobe without unnecessary excess, ensuring you're prepared for any event with fewer items.

  • If you have a minimalist kind of style a complete basics style wardrobe will work for you, if you want to mix things up a bit get yourself some statement pieces. A statement piece is an accessory or clothing item that adds some excitement to your outfit through pattern, colour or even texture. If you're unsure about styling but don't want a minimalist look but you also don't want a maximalist look, some basics with a statement piece is the way to go!

  • Find your colours! what tones and shades suit you? you should never be afraid to where clolour, but also check what colours suit your skintone, hair colour etc. You can find our guide on how to find your colour in our tips, tricks and recs article section!

  • I say accessorise almost every. single. outfit! jewellery, hats, bags, hair adornements, you name it! accesories are really what adds originality to your outfit. If you have a bold outfit you may require less accessories but if you have a minimalist outfit maybe play with stacked jewellery and hair accessories like hair clips and hairbands.

  • Something that might help, if you look in your mirror look at your outfit, squint your eyes so your vision is a bit blurry and see what bits stand out. You don't want it to be too too basic but you also don't want to look like a fuzzy ball of colours and patterns! (unless you do, then go ahead slayer!) It seems silly but it helps you seperate each item.

  • Balance your proportions, an all fitted outfit can be cool and sultry (depending on materials) but it can also be unflattering. Baggy outfits can look relaxed and streetwear aesthetic but can also make your figure look bigger and look too casual. A fitted top and a baggy bottom or vice versa can create the perfect silhouette cool yet still flattering your figure.

  • Shoes! your shoes can also be a focal point of your outfit, a sleek heel, a grungy boot or a cool trainer. Pick your footwear according to the formality of the event or place you're going to but also the colours going on in your outfit.

  • Relax, go with what you want to wear, trends aren't a bad thing but wearing only trendy pieces ruins the originality of your style. Find out what style you like streetwear, dressy, cutesy, grunge etc. Also remember you can be a chameleon! you don't have to subscribe to a specific look everyday.

  • Take your time, try on different things, wear what makes you feel good but don't be afraid to try new things!
